
Lou Balwin (GRI, C2EX), owner and President of Baldwin properties in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is the 2026 REALTOR® Party Member Involvement Liaison for the National Association of REALTORS®. Founded in 1928, Baldwin Properties has grown under Lou’s 35-plus years of leadership into a key player in community redevelopment and the revitalization of downtown Winston-Salem. Lou specializes in the sales, management, and leasing of commercial and investment real estate.
For 28 years, Lou served as a Federal Political Coordinator, representing NAR as its liaison to U.S. Senator Richard Burr. He received NAR’s FPC Meritorious Service Award for his outstanding advocacy and long-term commitment to the REALTOR® Party.
In 2012, Lou served as President of the North Carolina REALTORS® and was honored as the 2017 North Carolina REALTOR® of the Year. He is a member of the NC REALTOR® Hall of Fame and the RPAC Hall of Fame and currently chairs the NC REALTORS® Commercial Committee.
Lou served as President of the Winston-Salem Regional Association of REALTORS® in 1997 and again in 2017. He has been named REALTOR® of the Year and is a member of the Association's Hall of Fame.
Beyond real estate, Lou has chaired the Board of Habitat for Humanity and served on numerous local boards and commissions. He was recognized by the Bethesda Center with its President’s Award for his work to end homelessness and was named one of the Triad’s Most Influential People by the Triad Business Journal.
Lou and his wife, Dr. Leslie Baldwin, reside in Winston-Salem and have two sons, Henry and Will.
