James E. Martin (ABR, CIPS, CRS, GREEN, GRI, AHWD, C2EX, e-PRO®, SFR®, MRP), a lifelong resident of Dallas, Texas, serves as the 2026 Public and Federal Issues Liaison for the National Association of REALTORS®.

James has held leadership roles at every level of the organization. On the national stage, James was Chair of the NAR Federal Financing and Housing Policy Committee in 2023 and currently serves as a Director. He served as the 2017 President of the MetroTex Association of REALTORS® during its centennial year.

He serves as the 2026 TREPAC Chair, and as a Texas Regional Vice President. He also contributed at the state level as the Chair of the Texas Housing Initiatives Committee, and President of the Texas REALTORS® Housing Opportunity Foundation 501(c)(3). He also served as Texas RRC President in 2023. James’s dedication to service reflects his commitment to strengthening the industry that has shaped his life.

James brings a rich legacy to the real estate profession. His paternal grandfather was Oklahoma’s seventh licensed broker and a founding member of the state’s real estate commission, while his maternal grandfather was President of the Dallas Home Builders Association in 1976. James gained firsthand industry experience as a child working alongside his father and joined his mother after receiving his real estate salesperson license in 2007. Before joining his mother full-time, James spent a decade building affordable housing.
