Field Guide to License Reciprocity / License Recognition
(Updated January 2013)
Several U.S. states have reciprocal arrangements for recognizing and granting licenses to real estate licensees from other states. These reciprocal agreements vary widely from state to state: some have reciprocal agreements with all other states, while others may have agreements with only one or two neighboring states. As international brokerage and real estate on the Internet continue to grow, reciprocity between states and other licensing jurisdictions is becoming an increasingly important issue. This page provides articles, NAR policies, and other information on license reciprocity. (H. Hester, Information & Digitization Specialist)
