As you get ready to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday, take a look around in your community to see what is happening – and where. More than likely you are seeing Placemaking in action.

From parades, picnics and festivals in the park in small towns to fireworks on the river and concerts on the plaza in larger cities, July 4th celebrations gets a community together in public spaces to gather, barbeque, listen to music, see friends and families, eat pies and hot dogs, and celebrate.
