  • Sixty-four percent of  buyers aged 65 and older purchased a single-family home with a median home size of 1,756 square feet.
  • There are several reasons why buyers aged 65 and older purchased a home.  Twenty-eight percent  wanted to move closer to family & friends, 12% wanted to downsize to a smaller homes, and 10% moved because of their retirement.
  • Ninety-two percent of buyers aged 65 and older were repeat buyers.
