Economists' Outlook Contributors

Lawrence Yun, Ph.D. Dr. Yun is the Chief Economist for the National Association of Realtors®. He oversees and is responsible for a wide range of research activity for the association including NAR’s Existing Home Sales statistics, Affordability Index, and Home Buyers and Sellers Profile Report. He regularly provides commentary on real estate market trends for its 1 million REALTOR® members.

Karen Belita Data Scientist, focuses her research on discovering insights using large publicly available datasets. Karen has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from George Mason University and a Certificate in Data Science from Georgetown University.

Scholastica(Gay) Cororaton Research Economist, writes about real estate market conditions and home-buying activity of international clients using data collected from the REALTORS® Confidence Index Survey,  the  Survey of International Home Buying Activity, and publicly available statistics.  She has an MS in statistical science from George Mason University and a MA in economics from the University of the Philippines.

Meredith Dunn, Manager of Research Communications, manages and produces Research content on nar.realtor as well as for social media. She creates infographics, video content for Research, survey templates, writes articles, and coordinates the department webinars, data releases, and other social media outreach projects. Meredith received her MA from Cornell University and her BA from Dickinson College.

Nadia Evangelou, Research Economist, writes about housing market trends including the effects of changing demographic and migration patterns. Nadia has an MS in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University and also has advanced degrees in International European Economics and Public Administration.

Brian Horowitz, Research Survey Analyst, works with the Survey Research and Communications group within the Division. He assists with the production and dissemination of survey research reports. Brian has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Maryland, College Park.

Michael Hyman, Research and data analyst, collects and disseminates timely, accurate and comprehensive real estate data and conducts economic analysis in order to inform and engage members, consumers, policymakers and the media.   He also prepares monthly graphs of Existing Home Sales and housing affordability.  He attended Virginia State University and Montgomery College.

Jessica Lautz is the Vice President of Demographics and Behavioral Insights. The core of her research focuses on demographic trends for both NAR members and housing consumers. Jessica discusses the results of these studies in major media outlets and international presentations. She writes annual studies including the Member Profile, the Commercial Member Profile, the Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, the Home Buyer and Seller Generational Trends report, the Investment and Vacation Home Buyers Survey, the Profile of Buyers’ Home Feature Preferences, and the Profile of Real Estate Firms. Jessica discusses the results of these studies in blog articles, Twitter chats, webinars, as well as in major media outlets and keynote presentations. Jessica graduated from the American University Master’s of Public Policy Program and has undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Law and Justice from Central Washington University. She is pursuing her Doctorate of Real Estate from Nottingham Trent University. Her thesis is: "Is the Dream Still Alive? Tracking Homeownership Amid Changing Economic and Demographic Conditions".

George Ratiu, Director of Quantitative & Commercial Research, manages a research portfolio focused on macroeconomic trends, commercial real estate, and global investments. He discusses real estate research in major media outlets and provides economic and industry insights in publications and keynote presentations across the U.S. He produces NAR’s Commercial Real Estate Outlook—a quarterly forecast of core property sector fundamentals. He also directs national projects focused on regional market performance and financing—CCIM’s Quarterly Market Trends, SIOR’s Commercial Real Estate Index, and the REALTORS® Commercial Market Survey.  He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University.

Amanda Riggs, Research Survey Analyst, works on the Survey Research and Communications group within the Research Department. She is the lead writer and blogger for research reports and survey projects. She assists with the production and dissemination of survey research reports, as well as assists on social media content creation and maintenance. Amanda has a Master’s degree in international development management from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s in global studies and political science from The University of Minnesota.

Brandi Snowden, Senior Research Survey Analyst, is part of the Survey Research and Communications group. She assists with the production and dissemination of survey research reports, as well as focusing on digital/social media maintenance and content creation. She also serves as a liaison between internal Research Department staff and non-members/consumers. Brandi has a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Georgetown University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
