Associations can use these survey results to see compare themselves with others in staff size and salary expenses.

When referencing this survey, please keep in mind that an association executive’s job description can vary from association to association. As a result, compensation can vary based upon the specific duties of each AE. For example, some AEs manage their association building, including the rental space in the building. Perhaps an AE receives additional compensation for handling this duty. Compensation also varies depending upon demographics and membership size. There may be compensation discrepancies when you compare a rural area to a more metropolitan area. There may also be discrepancies when you compare an association with a small number of members to one with a large number of members, and when you compare staff sizes. As you review this survey, please keep in mind the specific duties of your association executive, the demographics, and the membership and staffing sizes and take them into account when determining compensation.
