MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT ALL-INCLUSIVE):
Translate the Second Century Ventures (SCV) business plan into strategic investment process supported by actionable initiatives.
Ideate investment strategy and parameters to meet objectives stated in business plan and as determined by SVP/CEO/BOD. Understand challenges and opportunities of venture capital and real estate businesses and decide on optimal approach to attract qualified investment options.
Accountable to SVP/CEO/BOD for meeting investment criteria and fund performance objectives. Create dealflow and pursue attractive opportunities for the fund. Monitor investment portfolio performance and determine actions required to meet investment goals and mitigate risk. Recommend investment targets, make presentations, negotiate transactions, close deals, manage post-closing, monitor portfolio, and recommend acquisitions and dispositions.
Become “Rain Maker” for SCV/NAR by identifying ways of attracting quality investment opportunities and making it happen. Use personal entrepreneurial background; engage entrepreneurs by establishing NAR’s credibility and suitability to support their investment proposals. Determine most suitable methods of attracting and retaining qualified investment candidates. Develop pro-formas and valuation models to support proposals.
Take Leadership of proposed transactions and navigate each deal through a process of identifying the optimal investment structure for NAR and negotiate with entrepreneurs throughout the process.
MANAGE DEAL CLOSINGS
Identify needed diligence resources and steward the process through closing. Bring requisite skills and experience to lead and direct this process.
Establish trust with entrepreneurs and provide leadership and mentoring to the early stage operational environment pre- and post-closing in order to create a more successful investment for SCV/NAR.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS):
Bachelor's degree required; MBA a plus. Minimum of 5 years experience in putting together strategic partnerships with emphasis on equity investments. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT ALL-INCLUSIVE):
We are seeking a Director for our newly created Green Designation in the Business Specialties department. The director will report directly to the Vice President of Business Specialties and be responsible for the following: Develop, plan, and execute a business plan for the successful launch and growth of the Green Designation program. Oversee designation course requirements. Work with internal and external resources to create look, feel, and theme of the designation. Identify and implement member benefits program appropriate to this constituency (i.e. Newsletters, Webinars, symposiums). Identify and create partnerships with appropriate entities and agencies. Direct creation of designation website that will address the needs of member recruitment, member community, and consumer awareness. Manage and work within designation budget.
Serve as a ‘Green Evangelist’ within the REALTOR, consumer, and partner communities. Develop programs and collateral to create REALTOR interest resulting in designation membership. Develop designation interest and support with state and local REALTOR associations. Develop designation interest and support with RCA and the commercial affiliates. Create interest in the program with REBAC course providers resulting in the scheduling of courses. Work with appropriate NAR departments (i.e. Public Affairs, Government Affairs, Publications) to generate publicity and “buzz”. Determine sponsorship opportunities that will further membership and member benefits.
Work with course providers, subject-matter experts, and instructors to ensure the education programs are meeting the needs of membership. Determine instructor need and support. Build a staffing plan based on anticipated growth and departmental need. Determine the appropriate time to add customer service staff as it relates to department needs and budget constraints. Build a support plan and establish necessary tasks to be fulfilled by the shared BSG support staff (marketing, web, education services). Determine what tasks should be done by temporary staff.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS):
Bachelor's degree required; minimum 5 years Association management experience. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, outgoing and creative individual with a passion for environmental issues as well as possess previous success in growing a business from start-up to maturity with strong budget development, management, and negotiation skills.
