The New American Suburb: Poverty, Race, and the Economic Crisis

In this talk, Dr. Katrin Anacker presents the findings from her recently published book, “The New American Suburb: Poverty, Race, and the Economic Crisis.” In the book, she analyzes current suburban issues by utilizing recently published data from the 2010 Census and American Community Survey. She looks at issues affecting American suburbs such as suburban decline and poverty, racial and ethnic change, suburban foreclosures, and policies addressing these issues.
