Duluth Area Association of REALTORS®

Club: Boys & Girls Club of Northland
Years Involved: New Involvement

DuluthOn Thursday, November 6th REALTORS® from the Duluth Area Association of REALTORS® delivered school supplies to a local branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs. The month of September, leading up to our annual meeting; REALTORS® were encouraged to drop off school supplies to the Association office. An overwhelming number of members brought bags full of school supplies to our annual meeting on Tuesday, September 27th. The items will be utilized by the Club on an as-needed basis. Sometimes, students come to the Club after school and are unable to complete assignments, because they do not have the supplies. Our contribution will allow those students to be able to complete their homework and continue on the path to success. Every child should have the school supplies that he/she needs!

We have REALTORS® in our membership that are very active with our local Boys & Girls Clubs; one even sits on their Board of Directors. As an organization, I would love to do a school supply drive for them every year if possible!

Boise Regional REALTORS®

Club: Boys & Girls Club of Ada County
Years Involved: New Involvement

BoiseThe Boise Regional REALTORS® REALTOR® Outreach Committee (ROC) reached out to The Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County to find out how we could best help them in 2016. The Committee was provided with a list of sports equipment and art supplies they needed for their centers and their summer program.

ROC decided to focus on the sports equipment and supplies by holding a Ball Drive. BRR Members were encouraged to donate a ball or make a cash donation.

ROC determines on an annual basis the projects and programs they choose to support and participate in. When the 2017 committee comes together in January they will determine their priorities for the year.

Southeast Missouri Association of REALTORS®

Club: Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Missouri
Years Involved: 1 year

SE MissouriBoys & Girls Club of Southeast Missouri was in full swing implementing their newly developed strategic plan when Southeast Missouri REALTORS® approached them with helping hands. Local REALTORS® made contributions through fundraiser photo sessions which resulted in a $1,000 contribution to the Club. The funds will be used by Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Missouri for their Project Learn Program. Project Learn is an after school program designed to reinforce the academic enrichment and school engagement of young people during the time they spend at the Club. Through Project Learn, Club staff use all the areas in the Club to create opportunities for these high-yield learning activities, which include leisure reading, writing activities, discussions with knowledgeable adults, helping others, homework help, and tutoring & games, that develop young people’s cognitive skills. The Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Missouri attendance numbers are increasing rapidly due to the work of newly hired exceptional staff, and hardworking volunteer leaders. Southeast Missouri REALTORS® are excited to continue our partnership with the Club in 2017 and beyond!

Hilton Head Area Association of REALTORS®

Club: Hilton Head Island Boys & Girls Club
Years Involved: 1 year

Hilton HeadThe Hilton Head Area Association of REALTORS® (HHAAOR) has been committed to the area Boys & Girls Clubs for many years. In 2016 we supported the area Clubs in different ways. The HHAAOR Community Outreach Committee toured the Hilton Head Island Boys & Girls Club and the Bluffton Boys & Girls Club and held its monthly meeting at the club location. The committee met with leaders of the regional Lowcountry Boys & Girls Club to discuss opportunities for involvement. In May, the Association held its annual Charity Golf and Tennis Tournament, which supported 22 different local Charites including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bluffton and Hilton Head with a check in the amount of $3,500. In September, the Community Outreach Committee held it second annual Spaghetti Dinner serving 167 dinners to Realtors and their families, and members of the community with all net proceeds committed to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hilton Head and Bluffton. The event raised $2,340.00. HHAAOR also was a sponsor for the Boys & Girls Club of Bluffton annual Golf Tournament held in September at the May River Golf Course at Palmetto Bluff.
