2017 Success Stories
REALTORS® Association of Central Indiana
Club: Boys & Girls Club of Grant County
Years Involved: 15
REALTORS® Association of Central Indiana reached out to the Boys & Girls Club of Grant County to help meet the needs and support the important programming offered through the organization which currently serves 1,134 local youth.
This partnership has an immediate impact on the club, community and most importantly, Marion’s young people. The donations included sporting equipment, electronics, craft supplies, facilities upgrades and other ‘wish list’ items. The REALTORS® also raised funds for protective wall padding for the basketball courts and additional program funding. There are many opportunities to come alongside this great organization that impact the youth of our community. Our hope is that others are inspired to reach out, donating their time, talent and treasure as the needs are many.
Julie Harmon, CPO, Boys & Girls Club of Grant County: “I am so touched by the REALTORS® Association of Central Indiana for choosing the Boys & Girls Club of Grant County to give back to, stand behind, and partner with. It means so much when community members donate to this amazing organization, and not just because it is helping to meet our needs; but, because it shows how many adults believe in our children and this community’s future.”
Greater Milwaukee Association of REALTORS®
Club: Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee
Years Involved: 16
Shorewest REALTORS® has been a proud supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee for over 15 years. In June 2017 we contributed $3,500 to the Boys & Girls Clubs. Our support sent 4 children to Camp! Think at Whitcomb/Mason and sponsored the "S'more Fun at Camp" event to show the local community the wonderful work being done at the camp.
Conejo Simi Moorpark Association of REALTORS®
Club: Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley
Years Involved: 1
The Conejo Simi Moorpark Association first connected with the Boys & Girls Club at one of our fundraising events when we talked with a member who was on the board for the local Boys & Girls Club in Simi Valley. Through that connection, CEO, Evelyn Schultz, met with the director to discuss ways the association could participate.
The Conejo Simi Moorpark Association of REALTORS® Public Benefit Foundation, its charitable foundation, presented a $1,250.00 check to the Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley. The funds were used to paint a Pickle Ball Court in the gym of the Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley. 2017 CSMAR President, Debbie Hake, presented the check to Virginia Hayward, CEO, Harry Van Dyck, Board Chair, and Dick Erbe, Board Chair-Elect of The Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley.
The money donated was raised by the Association’s members through various fundraising events throughout the year.
The association plans to expand working with other local Boys & Girls Club in our geographical boundaries, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Moorpark, and Newbury Park along with continuing work with the Simi Valley Club.
Georgia Association of REALTORS®
Club: Brookhaven Boys & Girls Club
Years Involved: 1
We contacted the state headquarters for Boys & Girls Club, and discussed ideas with them of how we could help with various clubs around the metro Atlanta area. We zeroed in on a local club, the Brookhaven Boys & Girls Club. In November and December 2016, we collected coats, hats, gloves, and scarves from staff and members at the Georgia Association of REALTORS® office.
On Tuesday, December 20, we dropped off more than 50 items to the club during their holiday party.
