WASHINGTON (February 17, 2015) – Technology is transforming the way Realtors® conduct business and connect with clients, and staying up-to-date on new and emerging technologies is an essential part of the real estate profession. To help Realtors® stay a step ahead of the latest mobile and online technologies, the National Association of Realtors® is continuing its one-day technology conference series, NAR Tech Edge.
NAR Tech Edge events will take place in cities across the U.S. this spring. NAR speakers and local technology experts will present sessions on topics including mobile marketing, online reputation management, content strategy, Google and cloud computing, social media, the importance of photo and video, and much more.
“NAR Tech Edge introduces Realtors® to the latest technology trends that can help Realtors® grow their business and better serve their clients,” said NAR President Chris Polychron, executive broker with 1st Choice Realty in Hot Springs, Arkansas. “These one-day, high energy conferences are a wonderful opportunity for Realtors® who are eager to expand their knowledge about the benefits of current web-based and mobile technologies.”
NAR Tech Edge is a great opportunity for Realtors® to learn about emerging technologies and how they enhance business processes and profitability and better connect with their tech-savvy home buying, selling and investing clients.
According to the 2014 NAR Member Profile, technology use has become an integral part of Realtors® business practices. Ninety-one percent of firms have an online presence, and more than two-thirds of Realtors® have their own website. Nearly nine in 10 currently use a smartphone with wireless e-mail and Internet capabilities.
Presenters and emcees for NAR Tech Edge’s 2015 tour are Realtor® Bill Lublin, CEO of the Social Media Marketing Institute and Century 21 Advantage Gold, who is a thought leader for his insights into social media and its real estate applications; NAR Director of Digital Engagement Nobu Hata, an industry expert in marketing and communications trends, social media, and technology; Jeff Chalmers, Vice President of Mortgage Lending and Regional Director of Communications and Technology for Women's Council of Realtors®, who will share how to best leverage and utilize today’s robust, cloud-based social media and marketing applications; and Realtor® D. Patrick Lewis, director of talent development for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Sonoran Desert Lifestyles, a community advocate and 2014 chair of the Scottsdale Area Association of Realtors® Board of Directors.
NAR Tech Edge events will take place in Burlington, Vermont and at Better Homes & Gardens Fusion in Las Vegas in March; Miami in April; Suburban Chicago in May; Minneapolis-St. Paul in June; Dallas in July; Honolulu in September; and Anaheim, California in November.
