NAR Congratulates Marcia Fudge on Senate Confirmation as Next HUD Secretary

WASHINGTON (March 10, 2021) - National Association of Realtors® President Charlie Oppler issued the following statement after Marcia Fudge was confirmed by the United States Senate to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Fudge, who becomes HUD's 18 th Secretary, has represented northeastern Ohio in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2008.

"The National Association Realtors® congratulates Marcia Fudge on her bipartisan confirmation to lead the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development," said Oppler, a Realtor® from Franklin Lakes, N.J., and the CEO of Prominent Properties Sotheby's International. "As a former mayor, Secretary Fudge recognizes the critical role HUD programs play in preserving the American Dream and ensuring everyone in this country has access to a safe, affordable home.
