Fraud Alert: Unsolicited Calls Not From NAR

Members of the National Association of REALTORS® have reported receiving unsolicited phone calls falsely purporting to be from NAR. These phone calls are coming from phone numbers with Washington, D.C. area codes, including (202) 205-9284 and (202) 319-9312. One robocall begins with, “I didn’t catch you at a bad time, did I?” and asks for a monetary payment, while others are asking for an email address and other personal details to receive information about “NAR insurance.”

These calls do not originate from NAR. The association does not make unsolicited calls to enroll you in an insurance program, ask you to pay for something, or to otherwise solicit your personal information.

Always be vigilant in protecting your personal information, and avoid providing any person information to unsolicited callers. If you receive requests for any personal information via phone or text originating from (202) 205-9284, (202) 319-9312, or any phone number not known to you, do not respond. If you have any concerns about the legitimacy of a communication or request from NAR, please hang up and contact our Member Support team directly by dialing 800-874-6500, or contact us via live chat or email.

The Federal Communications Commission has tips for stopping unwanted robocalls and texts and a complaint center to report robocalls.
