New Two-Day Green Online Course Bundle

The Center for REALTOR® Development is pleased and proud to announce the launch of two new six-hour (one-day) online courses for NAR’s Green Designation program, which was revamped for 2016.

Obtaining the designation now requires two courses instead of three (formerly, Green 100, 200, and 300). In addition, the content has been completely revised and re-organized so that foundational knowledge is offered in the first day’s course and practical implementation of this knowledge is covered in the second day’s course.

Green Day 1: The Resource-Efficient Home—Retrofits, Remodels, Renovations and New Home Construction discusses the distinguishing characteristics that make a home resource-thrifty and defines what it means for homes to be “resource-efficient,” “smart,” and “certified.” The course also looks at why consumer demand for these types of homes is increasing and how both the homes and consumer expectations impact the market.

Green Day 2: Representing Buyers and Sellers of Resource-Efficient Homes focuses on applying the knowledge you acquired in Day 1 so that you can adapt your core real estate skills to build business success in this niche market. The course pays special attention to the impacts that green housing trends have had on the MLS, and on the activities of marketing, listing, finding, and buying resource-efficient homes.

No application fee is required to obtain the designation. Membership begins upon completion of the two required courses, which includes one year of membership in the Green REsource Council. The second year of membership—beginning one year after completion of the courses—will be prorated through the end of that calendar year. The third year and thereafter is $98.50.
