Airport Transportation

Taxis: Taxis are plentiful and easy to hail downtown, at the airports and throughout many Chicago neighborhoods. Credit cards are accepted in all taxi cabs by city mandate. It is standard to tip the driver about 15-20% of the fare, plus $1-2 per bag, if the driver helps you with luggage.

Sample taxi fare between downtown and O'Hare Airport is $40-50, and between Midway Airport is $30-35 (tip not included).

Uber/Lyft: You may use Uber or Lyft to pick up/drop off at both airports. At O'Hare Airport, drivers will make domestic pick-ups on the departures level at Terminals 1, 2, and 3, while all international pick-ups will be available on the arrivals level. At Midway Airport, drivers will make pick-ups on the departures level at the designated area. There will be signs for 'rideshare'.

Rides from O'Hare Airport to downtown via Uber start at $50 and $33 via Lyft. Rides from Midway Airport to downtown via Uber start at $22 and $45 via Lyft.
