How to Register for MPIM 2018
Registering for MIPIM 2018 using the NAR Subsidiary Contract
As a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, you can register for the MIPIM 2018 commercial property market exhibition at a substantially discounted rate. To do so, you must use the Subsidiary Contract form available here (PDF: 347 KB). In the first section you will see a reference to “NAR." This connects you to the NAR exhibit in the directories and helps people locate you. It also ensures a €330 (roughly $389) discount against the regular registration fee if you register by March 6.
Following are a few guidelines to help you complete the Subsidiary registration process.
Section I: YOUR COMPANY
Complete all fields. Include your company’s Tax ID # to avoid paying a 20 percent Value Added Tax (VAT) on your registration. If you do NOT see “NAR" in the last field in Section 1, you are not using the discounted form. Go to www.nar.realtor/MIPIM to download the correct form or contact the local or state REALTOR® association that provided you this information or email NARCommercial@realtors.org.
Section 2: BILLING ADDRESS
Complete only if information is different from Section 1.
Section 3: REGISTRATION CONTACT
If you are registering as a single individual, make yourself the registration contact. If there are several registering from your company, you may want to identify one person as the contact.
Section 4: ACCOMODATION BOOKING
Note the website URL (http://www.mipim.b-network.com/) where you may locate and book accommodations for MIPIM. MIPIM attracts significantly more attendees that there are available hotel rooms, so book as early as possible and plan to be flexible with hotel options. Many participants stay in communities outside Cannes, but the organizers provide excellent free transport between the exhibition hall and outlying hotels. You will not be able to confirm a hotel booking until you have submitted your registration form with payment.
Hotels are organized by star ratings, e.g., 2 to 5 stars. Unfortunately, hotel prices are high during this event (demand far exceeds supply). European ratings are not necessarily equivalent to US ratings. For example, what you think of as a 2-star hotel might be categorized as a 3-star hotel in Europe—particularly for older properties. In general, expect somewhat smaller rooms with fewer amenities than you might find in the US. Plan to pay $400 - $500 per night (minimum) for relatively nearby hotel locations in Cannes; perhaps less in outlying areas.
Section 5: COMPANY PROFILE
The information you provide in this section will be included in the print and online directories. This information may generate some email marketing in advance or after the exhibit. It’s important to be accurate; check only those boxes that truly reflect your expertise/interest and business activity. (Note some sections allow for only one check.)
Section 6: LIST OF PARTICIPANTS
This information is for your personal listing in the print and online directory. Note that while you must include a work email to register, it will not appear in the print directory, and you may opt to exclude it from the online directory. While this will reduce advance promotional information, it is not recommended as it will also greatly prohibit others contacting you for potential business. If you’re registering multiple participants from a single company, each must have a unique email address. The system will not accept duplicate emails.
Section 7 & 8: REGISTRATION FEE AND CLAUSE.
Register prior to March 6 to receive the NAR discounted rate. Note that the deadline to be included in the print Guide is February 2, 2018. Review the clause carefully.
Section 9: ADVERTISING WITH MIPIM
The organizers offer all participants the option to increase their visibility during the event through paid advertising.
Section 10 AND 11: TOTAL PAYMENT AND TERMS
Tally your registration cost based on number of persons attending. No NOT include the 20 percent VAT if you provided a company tax ID number in Section 1. Add in any optional advertising costs and tally. Note the terms of payment indicates hotel requests will not be accommodated without registration payment.
Section 12: DECLARATION OF AGREEMENT
The registration contract must be signed and dated. You do not need to provide a company authorization stamp.
Section 13: PAYMENT
US registrants may pay by wire transfer or credit card. If paying by credit card, you must FAX this contract (they will not accept scanned PDFs via email for security reasons). Note all payment amounts are in euros, so expect some percent higher amount when it appears on your credit card. Check current exchange rates at http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/.
Fax the completed contract to the organizer’s New York office at 212-284-5148 (full contact information is provided on the contract in Section 14).
