Foot Traffic: Iowa City Area Association of REALTORS®, Inc.

  • Foot traffic and future home sales have a strong correlation. SentriLock, LLC. provides NAR Research with monthly data on the number of showings.
  • Foot traffic in July was nearly the same as last summer in the area covered by the Iowa City Area Association of REALTORS®, Inc. However, this sales level is significantly stronger that it was in July of 2010 following the end of the $8,000 tax credit and subsequent market slump.
  • Low mortgage rates and tightening inventories are drawing more potential buyers into the market as confidence in price stability and stable employment grows.
