NAR Supports Manufactured Housing

Wording in the Dodd/Frank regulations have been used to require manufactured housing producers to register as mortgage brokers.  Represenatives Fincher (R-TN), Sewell (D-AL), Barr (R-KY), and Sinema (D-AZ) have introduced H.R. 650, the Preserving Access to Manufactured Housing Act. This legislation will preserve the manufactured housing industry without deterioration of important consumer protections.  This bill clarifies the difference between manufactured housing manufacturers and loan originators, and insures that low-dollar manufactured housing loans are exempt from HOEPA standards.
