On June 14, the D.C. Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) net neutrality regulations to ensure an open internet in the U.S. In the ruling, internet providers aren't allowed to block, slow, or sell faster delivery of legal content on their networks.
NAR supported the FCC’s Open Internet Order as REALTOR®s recognize the critical need for open access to technology and online resources to meet the needs of their clients.
Internet service providers like AT&T and others are expected to challenge this decision at the Supreme Court. It remains to be seen whether to court will take up the case.
