Financial Assistance from the Legal Action Committee

The Legal Action Committee hears requests for and makes recommendations to the NAR Board of Directors regarding financial assistance to be provided in appropriate cases. Cases supported must clearly evidence the potential to have an impact on real estate related matters nationally, and support is not provided for cases which will affect only the particular litigants or affect only the law of a particular state or local jurisdiction.

Requests for financial assistance are considered by the Committee at each of NAR's two national meetings. Parties seeking assistance must provide certain information about their case to the Committee, and are afforded the opportunity to appear before the Committee to present their request. A detailed description of the information which must be provided and the procedures the Committee follows in hearing and considering requests, as well as the Request Form which must be fully completed by all applicants, is attached.
