NAR 2011 Annual Report

In 2011, NAR "seized the day" on behalf of REALTORS®, homeownership and commercial real estate. Over the past several years, homeownership has faced many challenges. That meant confronting head on the many issues impacting the housing industry.

Throughout the year, NAR reached out to consumers to remind America about the importance of homeownership in new and creative ways, none more so than the Home Ownership Matters bus tour and new public advocacy campaign.

NAR strengthened its advocacy efforts with the new REALTOR® Party Initiative, which leverages the power of NAR's grassroots on behalf of the industry and America's property owners.

Advancing the cause of homeownership and private property rights is closely tied to public policies decided in Washington D.C. and in 2011, NAR worked to keep homeownership affordable, stop excessive down payments, strengthen the mortgage finance system and improve the liquidity of commercial real estate.
