Daily Real Estate News  |   February 22, 2006  |   Foreclosure Inventory Up Drastically, Report Says RealtyTrac, an online foreclosure marketplace, reports that there were 103,540 U.S. properties in some stage of foreclosure in January, a 45 percent increase from January 2005. The state with the highest number of properties in some stage of foreclosure was Georgia, followed by Texas, Florida, California and Ohio. “It appears that rising interest rates and softening home prices are beginning to push foreclosure inventories closer to the historic average of 1 percent of all U.S. households," says James J.
