The Good Neighbor Awards recognize REALTORS® who've made an extraordinary commitment to improving the quality of life in their communities through volunteer work. Five winners will receive $10,000 grants for their cause. The 2009 deadline will be May 22.

Ehretsman has challenged
inner-city students to excel on and off the basketball
court for more than 20 years.He's contributed more
than $250,000 and has helped his players earn over $10
million in scholarships.
Boy Scouts of America,
Middle Tennessee Council
A Scoutmaster for
nearly 50 years, Green currently leads a troop of 125
boys and eight leaders. The troop meets weekly at his
renovated barn, where they enjoy a ham radio, computers,
bee hives, and a rappelling tower.
Funding Partners for Housing Solutions
Norton has launched
innovative programs to provide affordable housing to thousands
of low-income homebuyers and renters. She recently led
a renovation that created 47 apartments for low-income
seniors and saved a historic building.
As a court-appointed
advocate for abused and neglected children, Shafer shepherds
children through the legal system and recommends whether
they should be placed in foster care. On her own, she
collects furniture and toys to make children more comfortable
in foster homes.
