Many Move to Warm Regions, Despite Pay Cut
Americans continue to migrate to the South and West, even though higher-paying jobs are located elsewhere data from the U.S. Census Bureau reveals.
The highest-paying jobs still are on the East Coast, the data shows. New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut are the highest-earning states, the latter of which reports a median household income of $56,409.
The lowest incomes, in turn, can be found in West Virginia; Arkansas; Louisiana; Montana; and in Mississippi, whose median income is just $32,397.
