The International Real Property Foundation would like to congratulate Board Member and lead consultant in valuation efforts Walt Winius on his recent award as an International Fellow from Lambda Alpha International, an Honorary Society for the Advancement of Land Economics.
Membership into Lambda is by invitation only and is generally limited to those in related fields of land economics who have contributed to the study and ethical practice in the appropriate use of land both nationally and internationally.
The Society catalyzes the advancement of land economics by facilitating communication between members who have distinguished themselves in their professions, their communities and through academic achievements. Lambda Alpha International provides an opportunity for distinguished practitioners and scholars to come together in fellowship to discuss, debate and try to solve dilemmas involving use of our land resources.
Winius’ efforts on behalf of the IRPF and other organizations such as the Soros Open Door Society, Pragma, Chemonics and the Central Eastern European Legal Institute have take him to thirteen former Soviet occupied countries in the past ten years. He has conducted courses on appraisal procedures and practices and the implementation of a bankruptcy law dealing with real property issues where none previously existed. Winius has also provided his expertise for the development of appraisal curriculum in India and Bosnia. He is a valuable resource to the Foundation contributing many volunteer hours towards IRPF’s mission.
IRPF is grateful for Winius’ contributions to IRPF and applauds him on this prestigious award.
