2019 NAR Strategic Priorities

At the Aug. 6-7 Leadership Summit in Chicago, President-elect John Smaby laid out the association's strategic priorities for 2019.

"The competition for our voice is fiercer than ever—we must continue to strive to ensure REALTORS® remain at the front and center of our industry," Smaby told state and local REALTOR® association presidents for 2019, and association executives attending the event. "With this goal in mind, and to keep us focused on our core mission—helping make REALTORS® more successful and profitable—we have set four priorities for our Association in 2019."

  1. Advancing Member and Consumer Communications

  2. Redoubling of Efforts in Advocacy and Regulatory Monitoring

  3. Heightening NAR's Role as a Steward of Data

  4. Enhancing the Member Experience

However, during the REALTORS® Conference and Expo, we announced an additional priority:

  1. Addressing Affordability & Supply Issues.
